Michael Yammine, President and Chief Technology Officer
As President and Chief Technology Officer at SGT, Michael draws from a wealth of industry experience including work on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) projects for Marathon Pipeline Company, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the Blanchard Valley Farmers Co-Op and SCI Laurel Highlands.
Prior to joining the Systems Group Technology team in 2006, Michael worked for Northwest Controls/Crescent Electric Supply Company for 12 years where he managed several other engineers and provided engineering assistance, training and technical support on turnkey control and automation systems. Before his tenure with Northwest Controls, Michael spent five years at Marathon Pipe Line Company working with SCADA design, programming and installation, PLC design and installation and project engineering for pipeline facilities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky.
Michael received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Ohio Northern University. He is a member of several organizations including the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). He also serves as a committee member on both the Hancock County Technology Infrastructure Committee and the Findlay Development LLC Management Committee.
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:
Sunny Farms Landfill
Michael was part of the team that designed the leachate pump control system that moved the leachate to the storage tanks. The storage tanks pumped out to a Force Main system that went to the wastewater treatment plant. The Supervisory Control and Ada Acquisition system used for this project consisted of four Schneider Electric Programmable Logic Controllers using IEC-61131 with 18 Ethernet remote I/O locations and an Industrial Fiber Optic Ethernet I/O system.
SCI-Laurel Highlands
The SCI-Laurel Highlands project was a green energy project based at a State Correctional Institution in Somerset, Pennsylvania. Michael assisted in providing a SCADA system to control a 7+MW Power and Steam Congeneration Facility. The control system for 2-2MW Cat generators, 1-4MW Solar Turbine, Johnston Boiler and Heat Recovery Steam Generator are all based off of landfill methane gas. The control system for 2-Mirua Boilers and backup Johnston Boiler are based on natural gas. Michael designed the controls for the cooling tower, hazardous atmosphere detection and SCADA reporting to the power company. An Industrial Fiber Optic Ethernet system was installed as part of the project. Overall, 9 PLC’s and 8 Ethernet Remote I/O locations are part of the facility. The main SCADA PLC is Schneider Electric programmed using Unity IEC-61131.
Blanchard Valley Farmers Co-Op
In this project a new control system was installed for a new truck dump facility. An old relay logic system was integrated into PLC network for remote monitoring. The programming used Schneider Electric PLC and Unity IEC-61131 programming.
Wright Patterson Air Force Base
Michael provided control system support for the Air Force Research Lab Component Research Air Facility and was responsible for the design of control system upgrades for three wind tunnels. Michael designed the vertical wind tunnel system 1Q 2008 and programmed three wind tunnel systems (TGF, SARL, and Verical) PLC and SCADA/Operator Interference systems using Modicon IEC PLC programming and Iconics visualization software. He also designed and installed the “live feed” IP/NVR video system for the Micro Air Vehicle Research Lab that opened in Spring 2010. Michael continues to oversee miscellaneous power monitoring projects throughout the base.
Marathon Pipeline Company
Michael assisted with the Drag Reducing Agent (DRA) Skid control system based on IEC 1131 programming. After completing the design, he helped in the training for the new control system and provided Programmable Logic Controller Hardware and Software support.
North Regional Wastewater Authority
The wastewater authority project took place in Vandalia, Tipp City and Huber Heights, Ohio where Michael provided control system support, programming and trouble shooting. A wireless telecommunication system was designed and installed and he setup Iconics operator interface and a remote alarm notification system for the facilities. Michael actively maintains the updates to the software and provides programming support.
Ford/Visteon/GM/Delphi
Michael designed and programmed gage system notification, monitoring and data logging systems for the Sharonville transmission plant and provided various automation support and training at the Lima engine plant and Sharonville transmission plant. Michael also provided network troubleshooting for various plants and assisted with the design and programming of plant production and alarm monitoring system. The alarm monitoring system uses Adaptive Micro Systems marquee displays tied into the Ford POSMON network.
FMC Foodtech
This project proposed new controls system techniques utilizing IEC 1131 software and assisted with programming of the new system. Michael provided startup assistance of new oven projects and offered his industrial networking expertise for design, installation and troubleshooting.
Detention (Prison) Projects
Michael has designed control system layout and programming strategies for several prison/detention projects. He has provided on-site assistance with control systems and management of electrical components of the detention projects. Michael has working on new prisons as well as the conservation and upgrades of existing prisons.
Michael has completed many other projects related to waste water systems, industrial safety systems, electrical safety training, industrial controls training, emergency project management, pharmaceutical projects and steel plant projects.
